• All the memories that had been previously washed away by bong water. We bought these comics as they came out in the 70's at the local head shop. Our collection eventually burned in our old chicken coop based "Fort" in northern WI along with all our nudie mags and Sabbath albums. Imagine my juvenile burnout joy when I found this incredible collection on ! It contains EVERYTHING I barely remember, plus more...even Fat Feddy's Cat strips at the bottom of the pages. Get out your reading classes and Geritol and enjoy this incredible flashback to better days.
• I was born in 1977 and thus was too young to have any first-hand experiences with the 60-70s youth/drugs counter-culture, but my parents were semi-hippies at the end of that era. I was probably only around 7 or 8 when I first got into and read my father's small collection of Rip-Off Press comics and loved every minute of them, though I didn't quite get all the jokes, I could infer enough. Profanity! Nudity! Drugs! An evil version of Garfield the cat! I've been a fan ever since. I never touch drugs myself, but why would I need to when I can get high on laughing from reading and rereading the misadventures of Fat Freddy, Phineas, and Freewheelin' Franklin?
  
  Once I learned of this product's existence I knew that I had to buy one for myself. But I let my dad read it first. He deserved it.
• I've always been a fan of Gilbert Sheldon's Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers since the early 70s, having to hide the comics from my parents for years. This tome is as thick as an old fashioned phone book and has ALL the adventures of our drugged out hippie trio. BUT one complaint I do have is some of the printing is hard to read cause its now smaller than the original comic release, you literally need a magnifying glass to read, especially with the Fat Freddy's Cat strips at the bottom.
  
  The one thing I do ask, they have a page of the alledged stop action film that was made in 2000, WHERE IS THIS FILM?? Not even IMDB has info on it!!
  
  I'm deducting a star for the difficult to read printing on some of the pages, otherwise I love it!
• I adore gilbert sheldon and the freak bros; especially as he developed his craft later in his career. they are LOL, BUT I bought this for the kindle...bad, BAD mistake the format and fonts are all way too small to read without a struggle. I am going to try fiddling with my settings on the kindle but the windows reader doesn't seem to have any active tools for enlarging the text. I will come back and retract all this IF I can figure out how to fix it. for the time being 5 stars because it's gilbert sheldon...NO stars because I can't read it. (I'll post 4 stars just so I don't hurt fat freddie's feelings).
• What a great book. All the freak brothers comix in one big lavish volume.If you are or ever were a Freak Brothers fan, look no further than this huge graphic novel. Never fear fat freddy's cat fans, he is included in this volume and just as funny as I remembered. What makes this so special,(to me at least) is the fact that these comics have been hard to come by and sorely missed. Not just for the gut busting hialrity they provide, at the antics this trio and thier cat get up to but that they bring me right back to the days, when I first picked up thier comics,in the 70's. It has 624 pages total and two sections in full color, on coated stock paper. The other pages are in black and white. There is a removable dust jacket which has a different illustration than the book cover(a coated stock paperback type cover)which is a nice touch.The only thing I would have done differently is to have the cover of each issue and then follow with that issues original stories in order.The way they set it up I'm not sure what order it is in. This may be nit picking but remember, I had the original issues.I highly recommend this.You will not be disappointed.
• I bought this as a nostalgia gift for my husband because he had fond memories of the comics from his younger hippie days. Unfortunately, we now live in a state where pot is illegal and he said it just reminds him of how much he wishes we were still living in Colorado.
• Just a tad smaller than a standard comic book size, but wonderful printing and good over all readability. A bargain - complete - it's 624 pages FCS ! -) To get ALL the R Crumb stuff in reprint you'd have to spend hundreds (and I like Shelton lots better anyway).
• I am of a generation who came of age during the underground comics heyday and stoner humor like the Freak Brothers cracked me up in those halcyon days of my youth.
  So, to take a walk down memory lane, I bought this book from one of the third party sellers and was not disappointed. It's a big heavy well made book with B&W and some color adventures of Fat Freddie, Phineas, and Freewheelin' Frank.
  Still got a laugh from some of those long-forgotten comics that brought back pleasant memories.

• Booze and Vinyl by André Darlington and Tenaya Darlington is not strictly a cocktail book but a fun guide to pairing music and cocktails or as the book says, "how to host a boozy listening party." There are 70 albums, divided by mood with an A-side and B-side cocktail for each album, along with "liner notes" about the artist and album and party ideas. There are classic cocktails like the Manhattan and Tuxedo that are paired with Frank Sinatra's In the Wee Small Hours while others are a bit different like the ouzo/Campari/grapefruit Santorini Sunset that I enjoyed tonight while listening to Blue by Joni Mitchell.
  I like music and cocktails so expect I'll enjoy playing around with it. I'll probably buy another copy or two as I think it would make a fun gift.
• This is a great book with excellent musical selections from a wide range of genres and time periods, and drinks that are delicious and simple--much better than the drinks I usually make, but no over-the-top requirements for expensive, hard-to-find ingredients or brands. Fun coffee table book for guests to flip through, too, full of dynamic graphic design and color. Johnny Cash page suggests "Suffering Bastard" and "Stone Fence," both of which are tasty and on the mark! Would make a great gift, too.
• This is the third of their cocktail books. Like the first two, this book is so much more than just a recipe book. It contains wonderful cocktail recipes, to be sure. But it also educates and entertains.
  
  I found myself reading it cover to cover like a novel. It captures the essence of great cocktails and combines it with great music.
  
  A perfect gift for any friend who loves cocktails or music - or do like I did and treat yourself!
• Beautiful book. Smaller than I realized because I didn't check the dimensions but gorgeous and so much fun. I highly recommend for anyone who enjoys music and cocktails.

• Desde que me entere que este libro existia lo queria leer. Desde la primera pagina me transporte a la isla que hace 6 años que no visito. Me tarde 3 horas en leerlo porque no lo podia soltar. Ademas de ser un trabajo literario excelentemente compuesto, me fue facil y hasta un poco nostalgico crear la imagen mental descrita en cada historia. La personalidad y el encanto del autor se desborda en cada linea escrita. The Twelve Book Two of The Passage Trilogy A Novel Justin Cronin Books Reviews

• The Twelve is the second book in the The Passage trilogy. It continues the story of the key characters that survived Book 1 some 5 years after them reaching Roswell - and the events that occurred there. In addition, early on in the book it introduces a couple more time perspectives. One set in the days immediately after the original collapse of Project Noah and the over some 30 years before the events of the main timeline. We are provided with some new (and familiar) characters and different back stories that contribute to the overall telling of the trilogy. I enjoyed this as it gave it depth. Although I wish I had found the list of characters before I got to the end of the book!
  
  I started this book immediately after Book 1. It is a bit darker - in terms of lows that mankind has and will stoop to. That said the story is enthralling. Within minutes of finishing The Twelve I downloaded the final book City of Mirrors.
• The Twelve is a fabulously written tale — suspenseful, lots of action, touching scenes, and most of all, a wonderful style of writing with many passages that are difficult to forget because of their almost poetic style. Although this series is about vampires (which is not something I would typically read about), this book is a twist on the creation of this standard vampire plot. What I found most interesting in this read is how the characters come across with their feelings and their desires. It’s a difficult story to put down.
  
  Like the author’s first book in this series, The Passage, I loved this book. But unlike The Passage, which I rated five stars, I’m giving this a four star. I felt it just misses for a few reasons. Several times at the start of a new section of the book, I had trouble understanding where it was taking place and what was the timeframe. He moves back and forth from present to the past, which is fine, but it was disorienting to try and figure out where in the timeline I was reading. I had a little trouble understanding some of the characters and whether they had been in earlier scenes. A few times after reading several hundred pages, the plot would then reference a character who may have been in earlier scenes, but I was often unsure. I felt this created some confusion.
  
  The few critical issues won’t prevent me from reading the final book in the series. I’m happily hooked on this series.
• In a tautly written tale both dark and poignant The Twelve continues the story begun The Passage. North America has vanished beneath a plague of humans transformed by a viral plague into blood feasting but cruelly intelligent monsters. The few remaining humans live amid the wreckage and try to survive. But a larger will is at work, and Amy - The Girl From Nowhere - is moving toward an apotheosis of incredible dimensions and leading her friends with her. They will meet in a frigid concentration camp to face humans who have willingly chosen to serve the virals in an unholy alliance. Who lives, who dies, what becomes of those we met in the 1st book all continues here.
• I've read the whole trilogy and am writing this a couple of months after so excuse me if I mess up a little or don't remember 100% of what was in there.
  
  So there are basically two ways of looking at this book - comparing it to the others in the series and the others in the genre. Compared to the genre it is way ahead, but to the rest of the series it is probably the least, however not by much.
  
  If you've read The Passage you already know that this author knows how to write, and you can see how much he loves his character as he spends a lot of time on them and makes them very unique. Some people might not like that so much time is spent on characters that for instance simply end up long ago relatives to a main character, but I do enjoy the writing style and brevity immensely so that does not bother me at all. And in the end he really needs to tell of Gray, Guilder and Lila so it was nice to have the Last stand in Denver in there to have some change of scenery between chapters. But once again they are so well written that you can't help but enjoy them. Altough some of the characters being so much fun can bum you out when their story concludes about a third of the book in.
  
  The rest of the book ties really well with the first third and is beautifully written as well. And again reading about the characters before makes one feel omniscient later. What I mean by that is that when the future characters like Alicia, Sarah, and Peter do meet some of the characters (I am not telling which) you know exactly who they are meeting and exactly where they are coming from which is awesome. Plus everyone that actually made it into the future had a pretty logical and sensible path and there are no leaps of logic or anything like that.
  
  Now on to the not so good - there are some big coincidences... now in a land without cellphones and mass transit etc. two character meeting a thousand miles away coming from different directions and different means is kind a crazy... but you got not two, rather like 10. Also some of the things that some characters and groups have done really don't make sense if you spend more than a minute thinking about it, but I can't say more since it will be a spoiler.
  
  The antagonists and the climax of the novel are pretty great, however be warned that the book turns into pretty dark places unlike the previous one. I've read interviews that the writer's daughter helped out with plot ideas and whatnot when she was pretty young (inspiration for Amy) but here I guess she grew up because s**** gets serious with some rape, murder, slavery, savage beatings, and general oppression going on in the second half of the book. I love this kind of stuff, but be warned it gets pretty dark.
  
  Overall if you love survival post apocalyptic stories this where you want to be, and although there were some things that irked me i enjoyed it immensely. And knowing what comes next having read the third one it is worth even more as there are things coming that you simply do not want to miss by skipping on the series.

• I was disappointed that much of this book was about things that don't even seem to be Danish hygge. For example, relaxation breathing technique and visualization. If that is Danes do that to stay happy then they are decieving themselves.
  I did like the part about candles, lighting, removing clutter and exercise but it was so small compared to the rest of the book, which was worthless to me as it did not seem to be authentically danish (foot bath and aromatherapy... ). Maybe someone who just wanted to get relaxation tips would like this book, but I would suggest a re-write with more Danish research and application.

• This book is FANTASTIC. It (and its author) helped me go from inflamed and sickly to healthy and well. To the people who point out that he is not a doctor -- yes, he is not a doctor. He is someone unencumbered by an ideology or an industry. Nor is he an evangelist of something. His protocols are extremely well-researched, and entirely fact-based. Anyone can learn a lot from this book, and those who, like me, struggled with a complex of digestive issues, can benefit from it.
• I always thought the GAPS diet was ahead of its time, but this book is even more advanced. It has helped both my mother and I through our recent flareups with bacteria overgrowth in our upper GI tract (due to rogue Bascillus Subtilis strains in Dr. Tobias' probiotics), and has got us back on track with our health. I cannot understate how important the information is on its pages.
• Great insight, great reference, unbelievable amount of structured and brief although still extensive informations. Maybe a imunitního systému little bit confusing at times but it's minor issue. I did put lot of energy into GUT problems, resolution and supplement studying in last few years but I feel like a looser compared to John Brisson, I have to recommend this to all with GUT problems trying to solve their problems on their own or simply trying to know little bit more about their body inner workings. Although I think some previous background is welcome, this is really dense and John Brisson does not take prisoners. On the other hand while being pretty thorough I think it's still accesible if you're beginning your gut exploration journey
• Crohns has taken over my life and the medications aren’t much better. I was looking for a way to heal my gut as I believe that this is the result of damage or bacteria. There is so much information in this book. Good for anyone as the digestive system affects everything.
• This is probably the best book that I've read on the digestive system ever. It also is very hands-on and gives you protocols and links to other resources .
• This guy knows his stuff, you can tell he has been in the trenches. This is going to become my eating Bible. Thanks for sharing what you have learned from the challenges we share.

I found this information easy to follow and useful without having to turn to harsh medication. Particularly as advice is also given as to how to repair your gut after the event. Buy it you will not be disappointed !
