- Breaks down pre-algebra in dummy terms for people who have been out of high school for over 20 years. The only bad part is that it doen't cover a few of the pre-algebra practices that may be covered in class. However, I do recommend this book.
- If you want to teach a second grader some basic math in half a year, this is a right book. We don't need three to five years to teach basic math. So skip the lengthy (and maybe even distracting) textbooks. Use this concise book as a guideline. This is achievable for bright kids. Maybe this is an unconventioal use of the book.
- This book was very beneficial. I started back to school to work towards an associates degree which requires college level math. I was terrible at math in school and needed a quick refresher for the college placement test. This helped me tremendously. It is easy to follow and very informative.
- Has everything needed to prepare for Teacher's Certification Exam in Basic Math and Pre-Algebra. Works well for tutoring students - or helping your own - when they have trouble in the subject areas, too.
- The copyright may not be "current" but the presentation of the concepts is always pertinent. Really, how much can numbers change?
