Legal Reserves James Rosenberg Matt Henderson Elli 9781732761209 Books Reviews

  • This was an easy and fun book to read. The “little guy” against the big corporation and its lawyers. How will the jury decide? Who was right? Would the reader turn down a settlement in order to stand up for a principle? How did three law school friends arrive at such different paths? Read Legal Reserves by James Rosenberg, You won’t be bored.
  • I'm a really big fan of legal dramas (books and movies), especially those that take place in a courtroom and this book did not disappoint. Great effort for a first time novelist who kept me guessing for most of the first half of the book until you could see how the three law school friends would reunite in a professional atmosphere. I also enjoyed the professional dichotomy involving the different professional paths of Mike and Jack as one went with a large, prestigious law firm and the other went with a small, local firm. Each type of firm can have different challenges and the author presented those differences very well.

A litmus test for a book for me is how anxious I am to get back to it when I wake up and in the evening and this book passed my test with flying colors!
  • This was a believable courtroom story. Good well defined characters and a believable plot. Just enough reference to statute law to keep you up to speed as to the basis for the arguments and then the facts of the plot were played on.
  • Hard to put the book down from the first page. The book is structured so that it moves back and forth through time, it moves quickly and draws you in. The reader gets a mix of the personal and professional worlds of all three characters. It is a great view into the complexity of legal system and how perspective can change life events.
  • As a fan of Scott Pratt and Deborah Hawkins, I found this author through kindle recommendations. Glad I did. Great story, wonderful characters and good suspense.
  • I am a fellow attorney with the other. When I started the book, I thought it would be a reflection of our legal experience. I was surprised that it went light on the legal details and instead told a story. Well worth the time for anyone, no matter how interested you are in the legal system
  • It took too long to get me 'hooked' regarding the plot. When I did become engaged, I really enjoyed it. I couldn't 't wait to see how it ended.
  • Well written page turner that develops three law school friend’s relationship into their early careers along with an interesting case. Legal machinations liberally interspersed with the story and character development. Very enjoyable!
