The Prince Scandalous Wedding Vow Harlequin Presents Jane Porter 9781335478061 Books Reviews

  • When Josephine jumped in the ocean to rescue someone who fell off a yacht, she had no idea it was the mysterious man she had seen on the beach with his friends. She also had no idea he was really a prince.

Prince Alexander woke up with no memory of who he was or where he was. He definitely didn’t know he was engaged to be married soon or about to become King of Aargau. But, he did know that he was attracted to the woman who was caring for him. She was smart, beautiful and loving. And, he could tell she wanted him as much as he wanted her. But, when Josephine’s father returned to the secluded Greek island where they lived, he knew exactly who Alexander was and he called the authorities to have him taken home to his family.

Josephine and Alexander only had a week together, but it was long enough for her to end up pregnant. How will Alexander react when he finds out?

As soon as I started reading this book, I knew I was going to have a hard time putting it down. I was intrigued by Josephine’s life on a secluded island with her volcanologist father. Then, there was Alexander, the prince who was about to be married, on a bachelor cruise with his friends, who ends up fighting with someone and going overboard and ending up with amnesia. It was fun to read about a hero with amnesia, especially a royal one. The story moved along nicely and had a lot of memorable scenes. How Alexander ended up going overboard remained a mystery through the book and I was surprised to find out how it happened and who was responsible. Reading this book was a pleasurable way to spend a few hours. I only wish it was longer. I would enjoy reading more about these characters.
  • Josephine is an innocent. Her life revolves around her work with her father and life on an isolated island. When she rescues a drowning man, she sets in motion life changing events. Alexander suffered a blow to his head and he doesn’t remember who he is or what happened on the yacht. Who is he and did someone want to kill him? Being alone together they grow close. The setting is the perfect backdrop for romance. I loved seeing them together. They made the perfect couple. I found their romance sweet as well as passionate. Josephine is a great character. She’s caring, intelligent but has inner strength. She will always do what’s right. Alexander is a good man. He will carry out his duties as a Prince and heir to the throne. He doesn’t want to hurt Josephine but he knows he will. I wish that he told her when he remembered who he was. When circumstances get complicated they are forced to marry. I wanted them to overcome their issues. Unfortunately palace life and royal protocol make that extremely difficult. Add a devious enemy and Alexander becoming king and you have a compelling story. I could put down The Prince’s Scandalous Wedding Vow until I got my HEA. Jane Porter has written a wonderful story. There is emotion, passion and a royal romance. This book is a keeper.
  • This book has it all, love, hate, sex, a handsome prince, a beautiful kind virginal girl. Josephine rescues and falls in love with a gorgeous obviously rich man that falls off a yacht. The chemistry between these two is great. He never says he loves her but in his every action he shows her, but she's lived a very sheltered life and doesn't see it. This story also has a mystery and you keep waiting for the shoe to drop, it's well written and I enjoyed it immensely. I'm giving it five stars and I hope everyone loves it as much as I did.
  • A contemporary twist on The Little Mermaid fairy tale, this modern romance is full of passion, resilience, and the pull between love and independence and family.
  • A prince with a partly sad heart, a dying father whose love & approval he longs for.

    A & J make for a cute couple.

Josephine saving the prince from drowning……the attraction between them leading to ………pregnancy………marriage.

    Nice read.
  • Josephine is a scientist living on a deserted island doing volcanic research along with her father. Her preference of being by herself over spending time with others is obvious. When a yachtful of noisy, partying people dock on her island and disrupt her quiet, she’s less than happy. However, she does notice one man in particular who is not like the rest. He’s not as social and tends to prefer time to himself over partying with the others.

On the evening that the yacht is to leave the island Josephine spies a passenger falling off the back of the boat. She doesn’t hesitate to jump in the water to rescue the victim, only to find it’s the handsome man who had caught her eye previously. The one she secretly enjoyed sketching.

Josephine is unaware that the man she rescued is actually the future king of Aargau, who is due to marry soon. And the yacht he was on was a bachelor cruise given by his friends as a sendoff from singlehood. He sustained a head injury after falling off the yacht and now suffers from amnesia. Josephine tends to his recovery and they become close. But when her father arrives back at the island, he brings with him information that will change the dynamic of their newly forming relationship.

This is my favorite Jane Porter Harlequin Presents to date! I loved Josephine and her sweet nature. Prince Alexander with his amnesia brings an interesting twist to the story. And then when Josephine discovers something about herself, it’s a total game changer!
